REGISTERED NURSE (HomeMed Infusion)

Job Description

Responsibilities*

This position is responsible for the provision of nursing care, assessment including physical, psychosocial, development and environmental needs of patient and families, training, monitoring and reassessment of home infusion patients  following hospital discharge and in ambulatory care areas.  To provide initial and ongoing infusion nursing care needs to home care patients complying with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.  Triage problems as they arise with home infusion patients.

The employee will be able to perform the assigned duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations: ability to work in a sedentary position for long periods of time, ability to communicate/ exchange information, fine motor coordination/dexterity necessary for keyboarding or typing, and may require reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, moving about, lifting of up to 30 pounds, etc., with or without the use of assistive/adaptive devices.

 

OCCUPATIONAL HAZARD INFORMATION:

Staff members may have routine exposure to all chemical inventory, inclusive of hazardous materials, housed at all work sites for PACs, including but not limited to: the office, hospital, clinics, vehicles and warehouse.  Chemical inventory reference materials are available to all staff in the form of hard copy and on-line Material Safety Data Sheets. 

Staff may carry out assignments in patient’s homes, hospitals, clinics and PACs offices.  Staff may drive personal or University owned vehicle and walk on uneven surfaces to these various work site locations in all weather conditions on a regular basis.

Hourly range for Registered Nurses $41.78-$64.81/ hour

Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.

Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position.
Posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period.
Applicants who have left the UMPNC bargaining unit must include on their resume dates of past employment including months and years of service along with effort.
Positions less than 20 hours/week may be combined.

Desired Qualifications*

Work Schedule

Hours per week: 24 hours/week, 8 hour shifts (Specific shift times to be determined)
Shift/ Hours/Days: Day shift  with occasional Saturday shift

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.

Under Michigan law, a criminal history check including fingerprinting is required as a condition of transfer or employment for this position.
